These pretzel dogs are a must!! Easy way to upgrade a hotdog and everyone is going to love you for it.

1 cup milk

2 tbsp sugar

2.25 cups all purpose flour

2 tsp instant dry yeast

2 tbsp softened unsalted butter

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

2 tbsp thyme leaves

1 tbsp chopped rosemary

1 tbsp sesame seeds

2 tbsp melted unsalted butter

10 hot dog sausages

1.5 cups water

2 tbsp baking soda

In a large bowl heat milk to (110-115°F) to this add the sugar and yeast. Allow to proof for 10 minutes. Add softened butter, salt, onion, garlic powder, thyme, rosemary and flour into milk and mix until just combined.

Empty flour mixture onto a clean floured work surface and knead for 2 mins until a smooth sticky dough is formed.

Place dough into a greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth and leave to proof for 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size.

In the meantime add the water and baking soda into a pot and bring to a boil.

Divide dough into 10 equal pieces and roll each piece into a long “rope”.

Take each dough rope and wrap it around the hot dog pinching the ends to secure it. Place pretzel dog into the boiling water + baking soda mixture for 10-15 seconds. And then transfer onto a lined and greased baking tray. Sprinkle each pretzel dog with sesame seeds.

Place pretzel dogs in an oven preheated to 450°F for 10-15 mins or until golden brown. Remove from oven, place on a cooling wrack and brush with melted butter. Serve hot.
