Double Chocolate Banana Bread

A chocolate-y classic! This is how I like my banana bread, extra chocolate, dense but still cake-y, think brownie-banana bread hybrid!

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 1/3 cup mashed, overripe banana
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 2/3 cup chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and grease and line loaf pan
  2. Cream butter and sugar, then slowly add eggs, vanilla and bananas until well combined
  3. Whisk flour, salt, cocoa powder and baking soda until evenly mixed.
  4. Stir wet mixture into flour with nuts and chocolate chip until, lightly just to moisten, clumps are ok! Do not overwork it
  5. Bake for 65-70 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean
  6. Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan
